How To...Give Your Pony-Tail A New Lease Of Life!

Everyone knows how create the perfect pony-tail, it’s probably the most easiest hair-do of them all! If you want to stand out from the crowd, follow these easy tips to transform your pony from drab to fab. So simple, so easy and
so effective!

Be a Wrap-Star!

Take a strand from your pony (about 1 cm thick) and wrap around the top, until it covers the hair-tie. With a grip, secure underneath and it’ll look like you have a real hair hair-tie!

Curly Girl

Curl all the hair in your pony with foam rollers or strips of fabric. It’s best to do this when the hair is slightly damp so you can leave it to dry, which makes the curls stay put for longer. When you un-wrap the curls, spritz a bit of hair-spray and they’ll last for ages.

Knot It Up

Separate your pony into about 8 even sections, then twist and wrap into knots, before pinning to the hair with grips. Once you have done this to each section you’ll be left with a cool, knotty bun- a million miles away from the simple pony-tail!

Plaits

Pull all your hair to one side, and secure into a low pony tail. Plait and secure with a hair-band, and then pull bits of the plait to create a messy, laid-back look. Once you have achieved your desired look, spritz a bit of spray or gel over the plait to stop strands coming loose and falling out. This style is really now and perfect for long Summer days!

To the Side

Part your hair to the side, and then brush into a pony. This time, it should sit on the side of your head and not the back, which is a great, easy alternative. If you’re feeling really daring, back-comb the hair and spritz with some spray. This ‘do screams attitude so you’ve got to be brave!

Dip-Dye

Pop your hair in any style of pony, and grab some temporary coloured hair-dye. You can get these in sachets or packets and they should say that they wash-out (if they are permanent or semi-permanent they are not the right ones!) easily. Before you do this, it’s always best to get the go-ahead from a parent- being grounded is never much fun. Take the coloured dye or gel and apply to the tips of your hair. This gives a cool dip-dye effect, and because it’s temporary you can play around with loads of different colours!

Accessorize

Pick your favourite style from above, then accessorize, accessorize, accessorize! Big flowers and statement bows do all the talking, while funky hair-bands and quirky clips are cool and understated. The trick is to play around with different accessories and find a look that you love.
