Make...a new bag charm!

Think you need a new bag? Think again! Bag charms are the easiest and cheapest solution to getting that good-as-new looking bag without actually buying one. Here’s how to make a charm for your bag...

You’ll need:
Safety Pins – Lots in
various sizes
Beads – Lots in different colours and sizes

Thin elastic – About 15 cm

Get Started…
  1. Open up a safety pin and thread beads onto it. Get creative and have fun with the pattern!Close the pin
  2. Repeat this process on as many pins as you can.
  3. Make a knot in one end of the elastic and thread a bead onto it.
  4. Thread all the safety pins onto the piece of elastic, before tying another knot, and securing with a bead.
  5. Attach to the handle or zip of the bag and you’re good to go!
5 More Simple Ways To Customise Your Bag…
  1. Badges look great on bags. Attach them in clusters or patterns.
  2. Fabric pens allow you to write your own messages and create unique designs. Write your favourite lines from songs or your favourite sayings!
  3. Have a look for fabric scraps or patches and sew on – it gives a real vintage, worn effect.
  4. Go through your Mums sewing box and look for any loose buttons. The more odd buttons, the better they’ll look together.
  5. Not sure what to do when you lose an earring? Just pin the other onto your bag, and secure on the inside!
